ZARA is the striped one. Zebrawood earns its name in bold, alternating grain, and at 36mm across this is the neat, smaller case in the women's range: a watch that reads jewellery-first but still keeps the time properly.
The zebrawood is left to do the talking, set against a clean dial with enough detail to hold interest. On the wrist, the wooden link strap adjusts by taking links out; the small tool in the box does it in a few minutes, or any watch shop will do it while you wait. Inside is a Miyota quartz movement, the dependable kind: a battery every couple of years and nothing else to think about.
It arrives in a wooden gift box, ready to give without wrapping. If the back should carry a name, a date or a short line, we laser-engrave up to 40 characters in our London workshop for £25.
Every watch sold plants 10 trees through Tree-Nation, and every watch carries a two-year warranty covering manufacturing faults. If it is not right, it comes back within 90 days, engraved or not, with a prepaid label in the UK. Free UK delivery comes as standard.

Are wooden watches any good?
Yes, as a gift they will wear — with honest limits. They are real wood, lighter than steel, and the grain is different on every case. They are splash-proof, not waterproof. They are not as tough as a steel sports watch. We back them with a two-year warranty and 90-day returns, engraved or not.
How long do wooden watches last?
Years of daily wear if you keep them dry. The two-year warranty is the promise in writing. Most Forest watches are quartz, so a battery change every few years is the usual service. Riverstone and Woodhaven are automatic: no battery, wound by the motion of the wrist. What fails first, if anything, is moisture from a soaking, or the quartz battery.
Can wooden watches get wet?
Splash-proof: rain and washing your hands are fine. Not for swimming, showers or the sea. Wood and water are a bad mix if you soak the watch. Dry it if it gets wet, and do not leave it in a steamy bathroom.
Is wood a good 5th-anniversary gift?
Yes. Wood is the traditional gift for a fifth wedding anniversary. A wooden watch is one they wear, not another board or frame. Engraving is £25 for up to 50 characters, done in our London workshop, and you can still send it back for 90 days if it is not right. Ten trees are planted with every watch, through Tree-Nation.
